Diabolik lovers

Diabolik Lovers (ディアボリックラヴァーズ Diaborikku Ravāzu?)~Haunted Dark Bridal~ is a Japanese visual novel by Rejet. It was released on October 11, 2012 for the PlayStation Portable. A fan disc entitled Diabolik Lovers More Blood featuring 4 new characters will be released on October 24, 2013. An anime adaptation by Zexcs began airing on September 16, 2013.

Gameplay

Diabolik Lovers is classified as an otome game; like most otome games, the player takes role of the main female character,Yui Komori (小森 ユイKomori Yui?, - name is changeable), who can choose from a variety of male characters as her love interest.  In Diabolik Lovers, every playable character's route is split into three sections: Dark, Maniac and Ecstasy. Each of these three sections is split into a prologue, ten subsections, and an epilogue. There are three possible endings for each character.

Plot

The heroine, Komori Yui, has always been an ordinary high school student - excluding the fact that as a child, strange, supernatural things happened to her. However, she has always been able to maintain a positive outlook on life. In her second year of high school, Yui's father, a priest, moves somewhere else due to work. Yui is forced by these events to move to a new town and a night school for the wealthy and famous. Furthermore, the house she must stay in is called "the haunted house" by everyone else, and Yui is suddenly living with six brothers who aren't exactly human...

Characters

  1. Yui Komori (小森 ユイ Komori Yui?) Voiced by: Rie Suegara (anime) She is a 17-year-old student who lives with her father, who owns a church. She was forced to live in a mansion with 6 mysterious people who, much to her shock, were actually vampires. At first she didn't believe they were real but came to accept them later on. In a struggle for survival she decides to live with them, while bearing the fear of being attacked by each of them. As time progresses, she learns a lot of things about herself that she didn't think she had. Yui's personality varies by the choices the player makes. In the first episode of the anime adaption it is revealed that she is adopted but is later also the vessel of the triplets' mother, Cordelia, whose heart is inside Yui's body, which is why everyone becomes attracted to drinking Yui's blood.
  2. Shū Sakamaki (逆巻 シュウ Sakamaki Shū?) Voiced by: Kōsuke Toriumi Shū is the oldest son of the Sakamaki household and the current master of the mansion. Shu appears in the first scene (prologue) of Diabolik Lovers when Yui first arrives and talks to her about "that person" contacting them to let her stay with them and treat her as a guest. Shu is usually seen sleeping or dozing off in the living room or the school's music room, he skips classes a lot and is being held back a year as a senior. According to the students of the school, Shu is the owner of the music room and is always there. Apathetic and lazy, Shu is someone who loves nothing but music. He is lazy enough to do almost nothing, and Yui needs to do a lot of persuasion in order to get him awake and do something for himself. Shu loves classical music, ranging from piano to violin. He's now somewhat bored with life due to his past. Despite Shu being the eldest son he doesn't take any responsibility to look after his five brothers and the house at all, he mostly pushes this job all to Reiji.
  3. Reiji Sakamaki (逆巻 レイジ Sakamaki Reiji?) Voiced by: Katsuyuki Konishi Reiji is the second son of the Sakamaki brothers. He always talks politely as if he were a butler. He values rules and demands that they are followed by others, but he has a lot of self-made and strange rules. Reiji chooses to be the role model of the house even though he is the second son. Reiji has a very polite attitude and almost always acts like a gentlemen (unless he's dealing with Ayato's behavior or telling someone to be careful not to break the tea cups). Reiji is very tidy with things and wants to keep everything as neat and safe as possible. Although polite, he is a very strict man. Reiji is the one who takes care of the household and of all his younger brothers while Shu, the oldest son, slacks off. Even though he's usually gentle, he is a Do-Sadist (extreme sadist) who uses rather harsh words. Along with his passion for experimenting and making drugged potions, he loves to collect kitchenware, thus explaining why he is hostile toward anyone who breaks them and why he is so protective over them whenever his brothers (including Yui) want to use them.
  4. Ayato Sakamaki (逆巻 アヤト Sakamaki Ayato?) Voiced by: Hikaru Midorikawa Ayato is the third son of the Sakamaki brothers and the oldest of the triplets. Ayato is the first to appear in the first prologue where Yui arrives at the Sakamaki house and stumbles upon him sleeping. He refers to himself most of the time as "Ore-sama" (an overly-self-confident and narcissistic way of saying "me" in Japanese)[2] and he calls Yui "Chichinashi" (literally means no breast, flat chested). Ayato loves to tease, much to Yui's dismay. Ayato is quite the rebel and has a passion for torture devices such as the iron maiden. That very device can be found in his room. He is also the type who always brags about himself, sometimes commanding everyone to call him Ayato-sama. It is also noted that he eats a lot, and really loves takoyaki. Ayato is very playful. He loves to play around and mess with Yui, calling her names like chinchinashi (flat-chested) and scaring her. He is also very dominant and possessive over Yui, not letting anyone touch her and even goes as far as to kill his uncle to keep her "clean." He is a prankster and a very narcissistic boy, always claiming to be the best at everything. He does tend to trick Yui a lot into falling into his little games or scams just to get her around him.
  5. Kanato Sakamaki (逆巻 カナト Sakamaki Kanato?) Voiced by: Yūki Kaji Kanato is the fourth son of the Sakamaki brothers and the second oldest of the triplets and he is usually referred to as the "problem triplet". Kanato tends to cry often and gets angry when he doesn't get what he wants. He is always demanding for something and wants it right away, and when he doesn't get it, his demeanor changes. That aside, he is quite attached to Yui. Kanato loves to eat sweets, especially cakes. He will not leave his room without bringing his precious Teddy, his best friend, with him. He speaks politely but is abusive and clingy.
  6. Raito Sakamaki (逆巻 ライト Sakamaki Raito?) Voiced by: Daisuke Hirakawa Laito is the fith son of the Sakamaki brothers and is the youngest of the triplets. Laito acts extremely perverted, and his perverted nature has caused him to be suspended many times from school. Laito is both a Do-Masochist (extreme masochist) and a Do-Sadist (extreme sadist). He is always cheerful and loves to joke but is similar to Ayato when teasing Yui. However, his personality suddenly changes when something goes against his wishes, usually when Yui is too defiant around him. Laito likes to call Yui "Bitch-chan".
  7. Subaru Sakamaki (逆巻 スバル Sakamaki Subaru?) Voiced by: Takashi Kondō Subaru is the sixth and youngest of the Sakamaki brothers. Subaru first appears in the first prologue scene of Diabolik Lovers when Yui first arrives. He shows himself when he notices Yui's human scent saying it reduced his precious sleep and comes down to confront where it was coming from. He is usually alone and never cares about whats happening around him, Subaru is the silent type. He sleeps in a coffin, which is also inside his room. However, he easily gets angry and resorts to violence, going as far as to break everything when he gets extremely angered. He manages to compress this side when around Yui, but is still prone to outbursts. There is a tsundere side of him that only Yui can see. He's a delinquent type, violent and loves to damage things. He's also a sadist, but despite all, can occasionally be sweet.
